Gianni Giacomelli on superminds, Chain-of-Thought for AI-enhanced thinking, death of IP and more...

"Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it, we go nowhere.” - Carl Sagan

My full focus these days is how generative AI can augment human intelligence. That is expressed across all my ventures, but right now is funneled into my Maven cohort course AI-Enhanced Thinking & Decision-Making.

The next cohort starts February 8 with one live session per week for 4 weeks plus open office sessions and extensive resources. Find out more here. If interested you can get a 30% discount using code ACNEWSLETTER.

🤸🏽In practice

Applying AI algorithms to AI-enhanced thinking

The Chain-of-Thought approach to sequential ‘thinking’, and its derivatives such as Tree-of-Thought have dramatically accelerated LLM performance at complex tasks.

These techniques can also be very usefully applied to augmenting human intelligence with AI.

👩🤖What you need to know in Humans + AI

Arizona State University partners with OpenAI

“Arizona State University will use ChatGPT Enterprise for coursework, tutoring, research.. to build a personalized AI tutor for students, allow students to create AI avatars for study help and broaden the university’s prompt engineering course.” ASU has been highly innovative in on-campus and remote learning, this is a great pilot study.

PR professionals are using GenAI… but not disclosing it

An interesting research study on PR professionals’ use of GenAI shows that 64% are using it in their workflows, up from 28% a year ago. Half don’t have an AI policy, 21% offer training in how to use it. 35% think that AI use should always be disclosed to clients, but only 19% do.
