Future of strategy in SF, 32 new jobs in Humans + AI decision-making, the magic of code, and more...

“Each agent needs to know which of its servants can do what, but as to how, that information has no place or use inside those tiny minds inside our minds.” Marvin Minsky

AI and future of strategy in San Francisco

I’m very much looking forward to spending the week in San Francisco in two weeks, doing the opening keynote at Human+Tech Week on Infinite Potential: Humans + AI, and organizing a lunch panel event on AI & The Future of Strategy including John Hagel and Charlene Li.

I strongly recommend checking out Human+Tech Week. If you like this newsletter I’m sure you’ll love the event. You can use code SPEAK30 for a 30% discount AND a free +1.

All decisions will be Humans + AI. This will transform how organizations function and create a plethora of new jobs. See below for 32 new jobs created by the rise of Humans + AI decision-making.

Be well!

📅Event: AI & The Future of Strategy (San Francisco)

I am very much looking forward to this one! I have organized quite a few conferences in San Francisco Bay Area, but not for over a decade now. This one is a lunch event as part of the fabulous Human+Tech Week, where I am giving the Summit opening keynote.

In this lunch panel the legendary strategy leaders John Hagel, Charlene Li and I, together with and event participants, will discuss AI and the Future of Strategy.

Check out the event for discussion topics and more. Hope you can make it, or please pass on word to those who might be interested!

💡Mini-report: 32 new jobs created by the rise of Humans + AI decision-making

Perhaps the most important single frame for understanding the impact of AI on organizations is how it changes decision-making.

This is not simply a case of delegating decisions to AI. All decisions must be in some form Humans + AI - bringing together humans and AI to create better outcomes.

This requires reframing decisions, workflows, and organizations. It also creates an array of new jobs and roles. Here are 32 of the new jobs created by the rise of Humans + AI decision-making.

🧠🤖Humans + AI

VC/PE moves into AI-enhanced AI roll-ups

Major venture capital firms are moving into buying mature companies and applying AI to improve performance. This is a classic private equity play, but also allows VC firms to provide an instant market for their AI portfolio companies.

Five scenarios for AI in 2030

The UK Government has created a report on scenarios in AI in 2030, focusing on what might vary across five critical macro dimensions. A range of interesting insights, including they don’t see strong global coordination in any scenario, and vital risks in even the more moderate possibilities.

AI in the future of government

A nice article in The Mandarin provides highlights and insights from my opening keynote at the Business Innovation & Improvement in Government conference last week.

🎙️This week’s podcast episode

Sam Arbesman on the magic of code, tools for thought, interdisciplinary ideas, and latent spaces

Why you should listen

Sam is a fascinating and deeply interdiscplinary thinker. He sees magic and wonder in technology, and helps us to see that and to apply to augmenting our thinking. A great conversation.
