AI Governance for Transformation and collective intelligence

The rapid pace, powerful implications, and regulatory uncertainty around AI means it requires strong governance. Yet that governance must enable transformation. I share my AI Governance for Transformation framework below.

We are fortunate to have had some of the world’s leaders in collective intelligence on the Amplifying Cognition podcast. Listen to this week’s Collective Intelligence Compilation for a smorgasbord of the best on the topic.

Be well!

💡Framework: AI Governance for Transformation

My mantra of "Governance for Transformation" emphasizes that governance is essential but must enable—not slow—organizational change. This framework covers both core compliance issues but also actively focuses on guiding AI deployment to maximize value. I have found it valuable in board and executive sessions in balancing and integrating governance rigor with AI’s positive potential.

Human-Computer Interaction for Artificial General Intelligence

Many AI leaders suggest Artificial General Intelligence could arrive within years. It is a high priority to consider design for Human Computer Interaction (specifically Human-AGI Interaction (HAGII, perhaps? 😀)).

Meredith Morris, Principal Scientist for Human-AI Research at Google DeepMind, has just published a very interesting paper on the macro issues.

Chain-of-Draft learns from and informs human cognitive processes

After Chain-of-Thought and its successors comes Chain-of-Draft. This is inspired by human cognitive processes, which typically use very concise concepts as thinking steps. The result is efficiency improvements of up to 13x and latency reduction of 76& while maintaining quality similar to Chain-of-Thought.

Japan is the Petri dish for the rise of service robots

Japan is the Petri dish for widespread introduction of service robots. Shrinking population, limited immigration, ultra-low unemployment, and cultural openness to robots are leading to a massive rise in service robots.
